Used to love genealogy now I'm just frustrated... cost is too high, and now you have to pay for ridiculous add ons that should come with the DNA kit purchase. I can't even add hints to my family... it's just causing more of a hindrance...

Recent changes
I've loved this app for several years, but with the recent update I can no longer access certain information that I used to have access to. Several things that used to be free (seeing how your DNA is split between parents and a few other things) are now only available to members. If it had always been a paid thing, that would be fine, but to just come in and change that… nah. I've already dished out a ton of money to Ancestry so this change is infuriating.

I have several Williams in my tree and this app duplicates them as the same person and there's nothing I can do about it through duplicate procedures. Since the last update my DNA matches search doesn't work. I did give it a 5 star but now it's a one. It's becoming worthless.

We need more affordable DNA offers
Great connection to help find ancestors BUT people must be aware that work needs put into the research of finding family and be willing to answer messages when contacted by confirmed family connections. If not willing, then it's a pointless, expensive, exercise. If ancestry could do more offers during the year and make it more affordable for people to do theirs, maybe ancestry would get better hints? Unfortunately researching app works mostly for America than British Northern Ireland records. I pay monthly PREMIUM subscription but I'm still blocked from viewing newspaper articles etc

Site Review
It takes awhile to get to know how to navigate, wish there was an instruction. I much more preferred the old (2012 era)‘Family Tree layout', it was easier to navigate thru your entire family tree. Now there is more documents available. I have found it harder to correct entrees. Lots of thought has to go into source & name spelling. I have noticed different family members spelling their family name differently. Would. Guess it was from the lack of education; especially, from farming families. Then the taker of the census, had to guess as to the spelling. Drake Dierkhising, July 2018
